Nevermind my original question.. but I take it V class is 100% EQMs? With the Sat. night stay requirement it looks like you'd still need the visa wouldn't you? (Since you're not just hoping on a plane back right away)

Use expedia, the fare increases $135.50 CAD for adding the stop over.

Any tips?

Thanks!
Expedia does work. It must be the particular dates you are trying. I just tried the following randomly on ITA and double checked on Expedia:

Nov. 12 YYZ-LHR-DME, Nov. 21 DME-LHR-YYZ comes to $428.15 CAD

Nov. 12 YYZ-LHR, Nov. 18 LHR-DME, Nov. 21 DME-LHR-YYZ comes to $448.95 CAD

The difference is the additional 11 pound "UK Air Passengers Duty".

Thanks, OP! I am now onboard with a "free" ($20) stopover on the outbound for C$450 all-in over Christmas!

Seems that anything that is not "long-haul flights between the United Kingdom and India, Saudi Arabia, the Caribbean and the United States" is "intra-European". That is unfortunate, as the mileage awarded on Aeroplan drops considerably in this case and brings the cost up to 5.9 CPM (C$).

It is possible, however, to book Canada - LHR over one night and LHR-DME over the next night, with an immediate turn (e.g. only 2 hours at DME rather than overnight) and return via LHR to Canada. At least that way you have the entire day in London on the Saturday and a few hours on the way back again.

I'm a Canadian holding a Hong Kong passport and am interested in this deal partly because I don't need a visa to enter Russia. Does any of you know whether it is safe for a east Asian person to travel to Moscow alone? I've heard many scary things about Russia but am not sure if it is true.

According to some folk on the bmi board, it appears that you [b]do/[b] need a visa even for an immediate turn...

Still interested in a possible easter trip with the family, but suspect I may miss the boat on this one...
