you might want to check the fares out of OKC. IME it's much cheaper (sometimes 60% less) to jog 2-1/2 hours south into Sooner territory. Wichita just doesn't have enough competition for air travel (grumble, grumble).
Hey guys, maybe some one can answer this quickly. It seems that in the cob web of my brain that there may be a limit on the number of visits a tourist can make to Brazil in a certain period. I have already one trip over Labor Day and another at the end of October to Rio and want to book another unbelievable low fare again in early October. But the aforementioned issue is looming large in my mind.
Anyone know for sure. Others doing multiple MRs might need this info also.
You can get it up to 14,004 miles by routing JFK-DFW-GRU-GIG-GRU-DFW-JFK. Don't forget the 500 mile minimum on GRU-GIG.
I wish I could, but I need to take the direct flight back on sundays... it lands at 6 AM so I can head straight into the office without taking another day off...
on another note, I was playing with multicity and DFW on this deal.. on the DUB runs I would add a mini MSN run to add 2000 miles..
for Feb 25 I was able to force it to do:
JFK-BOS-ORD-AUS-DFW-GRU-GIG-GRU-JFK 13701 miles
for 461.70 USD ... or 3.37 CPM, I can't take two days off for a MR... and that routing seems crazy even to me, and I once did LGA-ORD-MSN-ORD-DUB-ORD-MSN-ORD-LGA haha, but perhaps someone can play around and find a quick turnaround or one day stay ala FRA or DUB

Fare rules seem to allow a stopover for free... but when I try to stopover
in MIA, the fare JFK-MIA (stopover) - GIG becomes an S fare and prices
higher.
Is this a HIP rule coming into effect? I've played with several dates
(and several booking engines) and have been unable to figure out the
stopover, even with Q-class availability on the flights.

I checked the website, there is no indication on a limit of visits. The Visa department phone line is open from 3-5 PM and I will give them a call.
The Tourist Visa is generally good for 5 years with multiple entries. There are, however, exceptions for the duration of the visa, based on the documentation presented and purpose of the trip;
The tourist visa must be used within 90 days from the date that it was issued;
All 5-year tourist visa holders, regardless of nationality or the validity date of the visa, may only stay in Brazil for up to 90 days. The Brazilian Federal Police (http://www.dpf.gov.br) may extend the visa, yet it may not exceed 180 days per year, under any circumstances;
The validity of the visa begins on the date of the first entry in Brazil
As far as I know, there's no such rule. Just a maximum 6 months stay per calendar year broken up in 90 day increments. If you stay more then 90 days you have to go to the Federal Police and get your entry re-validated.

Thanks flipside and my fellow NYer jfkeze for the info. What flipside wrote about the 6 months max in one year if what was probably rolling around in my mind. I don't know if AA is huffing and puffing against TAM or DL or just needs to fill seats in an awful way. Either way, bad for any of hope of profits for AA but good for us.
Oops, I did it again... (as Britney Spears singing).
Went ahead and booked two JFK/GIG (route through MIA on the way down but no stop in GRU) for $299 ai. This is a bargain but certainly not very good for AA's bottom line.
