Have a safe trip - remember - do not board first in NRT and SIN they always search one of the first few guys - be like 5th or so to get on the plane. Your 1st class ticket gets you in all the world clubs too.

In the lounge at Narita right now -- greetings to all the FT'ers on NW 20 today. It was a party in b class. (Especially that nice fella from Alabama). Had time to enjoy happy hour at breworkz in SIN. Thank you to all who know we are not crazy to take a trip to SIN essentially just for miles. Now we'll hit 100k that will hopefully be the mystery tier above current plat. Live long and prosper -- and pack in the miles.

Did the "fever patrol" board your plane in NRT on arrival from US?

They did board our plane 2 weeks ago, atl-nrt and it took about an hour for my section of plane to get off.

I made SIN flight, but just barely.

I am doing SIN run again this weekend and want to be prepared for time delay if it is going to happen again.

I fear they do this on Sunday, not worried about being quarantined as I am not sick but I am really looking forward to a visit to my favorite WorldClub (yes I know it is SkyClub now but I am stubborn) and the beer machine. I haven't been TPAC in a couple years and would hate to have this kill my time.

You were 3A correct! Mill Creek Don and SO were in 4 B and A. He thought you were TDintraining. I am glad you posted, that username is not in the system.

It was really nice to meet you as well. Hope to see you on another flight soon.

On our way

We'll be on NW19 tomorrow (May 21st) all the way from MSP-NRT-SIN with our Flyertalk tags on our bags. We're staying at the Conrad and returning on the 24th through HNL. We'll keep our eyes open for others!

Safe flying!

This past weekend, I did BUF-ATL-NRT-SIN-NRT-DTW-BUF.

And yes, as a first time Mileage Runner, I did the entire thing in coach.

Just wondering if anyone is planning on heading over to SIN in the next couple of weeks? I have a $28 SD pre-paid SIM card I wasn't able to use, and would rather give it to another FTer than let it go entirely to waste.

When does it expire? My family and I are doing another run in July. Would love to use it up for you.

EasternTraveler, YHPM.

And for anyone wondering about the swine flu health inspectors @ NRT, yes, they did board my flight (from ATL) upon arrival at NRT. However, they boarded nearly immediately upon landing -- we didn't have to wait at all. I don't know if I was just lucky, or if they've managed to speed up their process (resulting in shorter queues of planes on the tarmac).

Just back from my second sin run in 3 weeks.

They have changed procedures:
3 weeks ago...EVERYBODY filled out the health questionare, upon arrival they went through entire plane taking temperatures with a digital camera type device, then they collected the questionares...it took about an hour to get off plane (and I was in middle of plane...they let out each section of plane as they finished investigation of that section).

This past weekend, ONLY passengers actually staying in Japan had to fill out the form, they still boarded the plane, but just did a quick "walk-thru" of plane, no temperatures and it only took 15 minutes or so.

The security line for connecting flights was another story!! Major delays!! They basically would call flight numbers and those passengers got to go through "expideted", the rest of us just slogged along!

I remember when they had an "elite/business class" line...that is long gone!

I can still book for $2543 ai for M class. Is this still worth it?

Actually it's $2230 or so ai, but is about $300 more to go from my home airport.

Well, I booked it. I'll hope to say hi to any FTers who will be passing through SIN on Jun 7. This is my first mileage run, and I'm hoping it won't be too awful in M.

How soon will my status update? I am going to be traveling two weeks later on DL and wondered if my soon to be newly granted Elite status will apply by then.
