Grrrr . . . still having trouble loading ITA flights on .bomb - I get on of their ubiquitous error messages.

Thanks, UA!

Still alive and well, depending on your dates and facility with multi-city searches. Interesting routings involving LIH as well.

There's disconnect between ITA and .bomb -- ITA keeps finding L availability where there is none on .bomb. I'm holding a number of itins, waiting to see if the L buckets open up on my preferred flights.

Definitely. This is NOT a mistake fare, yes? I'm sure if one called UA, the agent could build an L-segmented itinerary, but applying an e-cert would be the problem. (I may have run out of luck with web support, trying have them apply ecerts retroactively. Someone yelled at me pretty fervently about how I should not expect them to add an ecert retroactively each time).

I hope some L opens up - this would be a great way to break my MR from JFK virginity.

There is plenty of L availability...just not on all dates/flights. Keep looking.

I should have been clearer, in a selfish sense - no theoretical "L" availability on my desired days of travel .

Exclamation

Are these upgrade-able with SWUs if coming on transatlantic flights and continuing to Hawaii? Wonder if it can all be done on the same PNR?

I would probably need two separate tickets so no same PNR. Any idea?

This would be some time early 2009.

I'm sure there's a way to do it, but it won't be for $465, right? (Also I think you'd have to do this via IAD -- JKF isn't an int'l gateway anymore. )

Shhhhh! I'll PM you about this...

CR-1s = Confirmed Regional = upgade instrument that lets you upgrade one-way -- including all segments, assuming layovers aren't more than a few horus -- for flights within "Region 1" (i.e., the North and Central America).

I'd start with the UA FAQ sticky... It will give you a lot of information!

Looks like that freakin' L availability has finally opened up on more dates

PM me if anyone needs help linking what ITA displays with the actual UA website . . . .

BOS-HNL is also available for $460. Lots of mid-week availability in January.

All Booked!

Booked JFK-SFO-LAX-HNL-LAX-JFK for 01/14/09-01/15/09 (only days I could travel, and the only routing that didn't send the fare up to the 600s or include a leg on Hawaiian Airlines). Customer Service even applied an e-cert, despite my building of a multi-city itinerary!

Does anyone know, though, why I cannot apply a CR-1 to either half of the itinerary (JFK-SFO-LAX-HNL or HNL-LAX-JFK? In e-upgrades, my only options are miles or e-500s . . . .

I think you'll have to call to get a CR1 applied. The upgrade system on .bomb is not very 'smart'. I have this happen sometimes where it won't let me use a particular instrument for a particular routing. The automated upgrade system may be able to help you do what you want. It did for me.
