As there are no NW hubs on the east coast I don't think you'll find it from there.

Jesus. No AP, no Min, $250 cancel. This is a ridiculous fare.

Now, a) do I want to go to SYD for 36 hours, and, b) is that really how I want to spend my Fourth of July?

You're asking those questions on Flyertalk? Seriously?

F availability seems wide open in late July on NW's MSP-SIN routes, for about $2100 RT w/ 50K miles. Books in U class.

Do you in fact mean that NW has wide open WBC (World Business Class) UPGRADE availability in July?

Yes, that's a better way to state it. More particularly, NW has had WBC upgrade availability for some time pulling from the Z bucket but the Z fares were usually above $3K. I was able to swap a pair of $3500 Z class tix that were booked some time ago for a pair of $2100 U class tix.

Looks like $300 more for weekend departure, and $0 extra to fly the UA metal on to MEL.

THIS THREAD IS GOING TO BANKRUPT ME!

BTW, that Z fare to SYD and MEL looks like it is dying, but looks like it's still bookable as codeshare on usair's website. Too bad mrs. bangkokiscool couldn't get time off work, i would have been all over this one. Australia is beautiful!

I'm surprised the UA fare to SYD from NW hubs didn't last longer as the fare from ATL did earlier. Was DL/NW not meeting it from UA hubs this time or rather not starting the fare war?
