Shouldn't this be posted at "Good Deals" in Economy Class thread?

Just putting it in here because I know lots of folks who peruse this thread have an interest in getting to CMB cheaply from time to time.

Surely 50BA or 55AA miles for CX J is a far better option for that purpose.

I think this should still be in the Economy thread as this one is for premium fares only.

OT: If good deal Y positioning fares are the biggest problem we can complain about...

So someone wanted to do us all in here a favour.

I suppose the best they could have done is started a thread in the main deals area (read by so many more), and referenced it here.

But really, sometimes I wonder why we can't all just be a bit more welcoming/forgiving?

Otherwise, the next deal might not be shared here, for fear of the poster getting flamed.

Dude, no one is complaining (hence forgiving is not even part of the equation as OP didnt commit a crime), please read the post and feedback! All that has been stated is that the best fit for the economy fare would be in the economy thread. The fact will continue to remain that it's no doubt a very good positioning fare. I may use this myself as it's a crazy low positioning fare!!!!

I know it's a Y-fare but some interesting routes are available, including xMLE.

EDIT: And to keep within the spirit of this thread, you can do in J for ~$2300. Stopover in MLE is allowed.

Wow. That's a great deal! Anything to/from Japan is usually expensive, relative to other destinations around SE Asia from the US. My best guess is that either your company has negotiated fares with CO or a percentage discount off published fares. If the latter, the fare basis is ASL11, minimum 3 day stay, maximum 30 day stay, 14 day advanced purchase, travel between 5/11/09 and 8/31/09.
