NW has one of the infamous ex-CMB one-way fares, too. $770 for CMB-LAX in C (fare basis CSPL). Routing:
Code:
PA01 /VIA THE PACIFIC/
CMB-YY-TYO-SEA-LAX
CMB-YY-TPE/HKG/BKK-TYO-SEA-LAX
CMB-YY-SIN-TYO-SEA-LAX
CMB-YY-KUL-OSA-SEA-LAX
YY MEANS ANY CARRIERS NONSTOP/DIRECT SERVICE
Very interesting stuff...I think. I've got no experience with these types of fares, either.

I saw the BKK to SEA for $1780 RT, all in on ITA as well. My question is how do you actually book it? Is there a travel agency where I can email and get it ticketed? IF SO, does anyone know or can recommend a good travel agent that can communicate via email would be appreciated.
there is an interesting routing BKK ICN HNL SFO... unlimited stopover => prices at 888 USD all in one way. According to ITN, it should be around 9231 miles + C bonus + tier bonus... that could be a good mileage run including some holidays in Hawai, thanks for the tip!
What alliance is it? Can you really make a stop over? The rules may say unlimited stopover but if you were to stop, some kind of Intermediate Point Price check would kick in and it'd bump the price up.

It's easy to ticket that. I just did one similar by simply calling the airline. Sometimes you can also do it on travelocity, but I find that you have to force which airline to take. Right now BKK LAX prices on travelocity at 1738 for the dates I randomly picked while ITA gives 1700$. Good luck!

I have booked such a ticket before but ended up not using it. It can be issued and it works.
Question: YY is it nonstop to the end? or is it that SIN-TYO for example needs to be nonstop/direct and you could stop in TYO?
Well, I've been trying to price a trip as well. ex BKK to LAX, or better JFK. Does anyone know if the price BKKLAX for $1700 can be further lowered?
Or maybe if anyone can price a ticket to JFK/LGA/EWR for around that price too? Can't seem to price ex-CMB right now. (I know, I'm asking for the moon doesn't hurt to ask right?)

for BKK ICN HNL SFO at 888 USD (incl taxes) one way, C class on DL, check expedia.com many different alternatives possible, i checked for 15 march to HNL and 22 march from HNL. Many carriers seem available to get to ICN as this is a C fare, for those willing to try out different business classes and compare...

Alot of good deals *from* Asia to the US, but not many from the US to Asia.
I think what we lack is a good premium fare search engine - especially something with dream map capability. It would be great if a company like expertflyer would step up and offer an engine capable of indexing all the Y,D,Z,C,F etc. fares and produce a good search engine or dream map from them.

I noticed that TG's full F fare out of CMB is officially 2121$ according to travelocity's fare request engine. The C is priced at 1431. Can anyone get any booking engine to grab either one of those options? It seems TG does not have flights out of CMB, so you need to start with another carrier, but then there is no direct F from BKK to LAX and trying to make it go through NRT or other options to LAX did not give me anything close to that price. It comes at least twice as much for C.

TG does have flights:
CMB-BKK 02:45 07:05 TG308 T Th F Su
BKK-CMB 23:05 01:25 TG307 M W Th Sa
And I think TG flies a 346 to LAX now, should be F on that.
Hate to cross-post, but I just booked myself a one-way PEK-SIN-LHR in SQ C for ~$1,820. I also found fares under $3,000 ex-KUL and SIN. Definitely worth checking out IMO.
