One would assume, but KE has been going through the upgrade process REALLY slowly. Who knows how long it will be before the Canadian market gets the new seats. I think by the end of this summer all of the US market will have the new seats finally. (with the exception of flt. 1/2 to NRT)

Anyone see some companion fares from MH for C or F travel between US and Asia? I remember they used to offer one, but could not find any recent deals.

Has anyone played around with this ex-KUL AI RTW fare at all? At first glance it looks like nothing of interest (because it's AI), but upon reviewing it I can see that it allows use of NZ in addition to AI. I am trying to figure out if you could use almost all NZ on this, to get an almost RTW on NZ at AI prices (a bargain at only about $3k). If you could get from KUL-HKG (not sure how to do this on AI, maybe some surface transit is required?) and then NZ on HKG-AKL, AKL-LAX, LAX-LHR you would have the makings of good value. From LHR maybe you would have to use AI (but at least you could take their 77W product LHR-DEL). I also wonder if you could use LHR-HKG on NZ as the fare rules exempt "TRAVEL WITHIN SOUTHEAST ASIA/JAPAN" from backtracking?

Wow, it would be great if this fare actually worked!

I tried the following just now:
KUL-BOM (AI operated by MH) in Y (waitlisted for C)
BOM-HKG (AI) in C
HKG-AKL-LAX-LHR (NZ) in C
LHR-BOM (AI) in C
BOM-KUL (AI op. by MH) in Y (again waitlisted for C)
but the system wants to charge € 9.988 for this itinerary

All RTWs need to be priced manually by the issuing airline (unless an agency is willing to assume all risks of a fare or tax miscalculation).

FARES MAY ONLY BE SOLD BY AI OR NZ.

Might be worth contacting NZ in KUL directly before speculating further

If issued in India it would be subject to the high VAT rate on premium air fares.

but that would hardly be an issue at $3K for an NZ RTW....very interested to hear what people find out. If I get to it I will ring NZ in KL.

That's a genius idea. Not.

1) Fare filed by AI. NZ will have no idea about it.
2) The fare was filed a couple of years ago. Nuff said.

Exactly. since i am the bozo who called the Virgin GSA in DAC to get assistance booking that and wound up getting the DAC-LAX fare pulled, I can say with a high degree of certainty that we should definitely not call the GSAs on this. Let's find a couple of TAs who will try to ticket these.
