SFO-NRT-SIN-HKG-SFO in late May

Booked this on UA today using one of the $100 off on a $700+ ticket coupons. I have three of those coupons left which I will now make available in CoupCon.

Net cost was 667.64 as an H fare for 16995 status miles.

Upgraded all segments (got 15B)except NRT-SIN. The nice lady at the CTO put me on the PA1 wait list instead of PB1 for that segment, however I got my preferred 46H in the meantime since I was told that no E+ exists on Transpac 744s.

unagi1,

How come you've got NCs with such advance? Being a PremExec, mines never clear until a couple of days before flight

What am I doing wrong?

Needless to say, I was suprised too to get NC so early on 3 out of 4 segments. My normal experience is like yours Toxa, waiting and nail biting as a 1P until late in the game.

When I made the res three nights ago, and inquired in advance about NC availability, the lady said that SFO-NRT was open on my dates, NRT-SIN was Nope, SIN-HKG was ok and the HKG-SFO was nope. Then I go this afternoon to pay for and pick up the e-tix receipt, and the HKG-SFO is good to go also!

It was cool, when she said she was "priority wait listing" me for NC on the NRT-SIN segment, I asked "is that PB1 or..." and let my voice trail off. She then said, oh no, I'll put you on the PA1 list

This isnt really a mileage run since I'm staying two nights in Tokyo to meet friends on at least one night, will do the 6hr transit hotel thing in SIN, and will then have 1/2 a day and overnight in HKG. I mused about switching the second night in Tokyo to HKG, but it would have triggered a second stopover on the fare and driven the price up a $100.

Premex2000 -
I dont want to post the exact itinerary until I call UA between today and Monday to password protect the PNR.

As you may have seen on other posts, there has been a glut of weirdness lately, mysterious deletion of previously confirmed upgrades, deletion or changing of reservations, seat assignments, etc.

I did note when I would be in HKG in response to your query on the other board.
