UA DEN-XIY Xi'an China $552.26 r.t. 3.7cpm Sept/Oct
Example dates are 28 Sept - 03 Oct on UA metal DEN-SFO-XIY / XIY-SFO-DEN - 14,910 BIS miles
Multiple origins possible... DEN is my hometown, so I used this as the example.
Great for combining a MR with a quick visit of the Terracotta Army statues, and a quick jog down to the Great Wall using a cheap award ticket to PEK on CA. Thinking about booking this one myself.
Multi-leg DEN-SFO-XIY / PEK-ORD-DEN is also possible for similar pricing, and there are similar priced r.t.'s to PEK as well. I haven't really dug into the details and all available dates, but it's pretty easy to search it out.
All G fares... rare to see on TPAC. Maybe some of UA's "I'm sorry" fares?

All tourist sites will be very crowded around October 1. Hotels will be expensive, too. Just keep this in mind.

Seeing basic hotels for $13/ni .... private tours available on Viator and other sites. Don't see it being too pricey... though you are correct about this time of the year. Would still love to go.

I'm seeing prices for various dates in Sept/Oct for any 4+ day long trips DEN-XIY in the sub $600 range. I may have to think about that...anyone have any idea what the timing is as far as when this deal will end?
