These DPS-US fares are nothing to even think about.

Tons of Y availability all year in the $800-$900 range to LAX, for example.

Sorry, dude...not even close to a sale.

DPS-DOH-LAX is around 13000 mi.

I would suspect that the DPS-LAX fares you are talking about, are via North Asia rather than the middle east. Most of those routes are around 9000 mi.

Imagine the 9000 mi ticket is 800 USD, then you'd be buying miles at 8 cpm if you take the 13000 mi ticket for 1130 USD. Not quite attractive is it?

Launch pricing for J on this route was $900. I can't bear paying the same price for Y.
