AA: JFK -> AMS and others

First time/long time member here. not sure if these qualify as MR deals but they seem worthy of sharing.

JFK -> AMS - $501 direct/RT
JFK -> MAD - $542 direct/RT
LAX -> NRT - $765 direct/RT

all in mid february.

Those are great fares, but nowadays it not MR, a year ago yes

Welcome to real world where there are other FF programs than AAdvantage.

My apologies for being so straightforward, but I just hate this US mentality that MRs are gone.

Thanks for posting Matt, I found JFK-MAD for $381 from Feb 14-21. While I prefer my MRs to be immediate turns, this might be a nice positioning fare if I can "nest" another MR from MAD. And at roughly 5.3 cents per mile, I can just about rationalize that as a legit MR!

Now, how do I convince Mrs. FNZFUND to let me do a MR on Valentine's Day??

new to the site. is that the definition of a MR? long distance, immediate turns, low CPM?

MR is Mileage Run. It depends on the person. What I consider a MR, someone else may just consider a mini vacation run (cheap flight, weekend getaway). Ultimate goal is low CPM and no need to pay for a hotel. For some that is long flight with immediate turn around.

Thats easy. Take her to Paris.

I got RT PHX-CDG for $448RT on DL and bringing the girl with me for a "trip to Paris" for her Valentine's Day gift.

She is stoked!!!

deals ain't bad, but...

JFK/AMS $501 -> 6.88 cpm
JFK/MAD $542 -> 7.55 cpm
LAX/NRT $765 -> 7.02 cpm

that's....not worth it if you take them as MR deal.

4/4.5 cpm or below is the number you are looking for.
