Damn all of these good fares require positioning to PDX or is this part of the other fare posted to JFK

I live near BTR - "positioning" is my way of life! I will be in SAN to do 5 RT's to BOS, so I decided to trundle up to PDX (will be staying w/friends in LAX) - got a $58 & change flight to PDX from LAX. Still working on getting home from PDX to BTR!

I will learn much on my 1/30-2/1 VX trip - PDX-SFO-JFK-LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX.

I guess ill be doing mine just for the EQM. I booked dates with saver awards BOS-PDX. Ill be earning 24K AS miles as MVPG so it woudl be a 1k net loss on miles for positioning (barring any cheap flights to PDX). I turned one of 3 into a week long trip to PDX.

You may be one of the first VX mileage run trips so take lots of notes and let the rest of us know how to survive! My wife is going with me so we're booking the A and C seats with fingers crossed that the middle will stay empty on at least a few flights.

I worked out one of these great deals for dates that would work for me using VX for the Alaska miles and just couldn't push the button to book it, even though its a great deal. I decided my body is too old, too weak, or something because I decided 48 consecutive hours in either a coach seat or airport chair was more than I was up to. Congratulations(I think) on being up to the challenge.

I ended up turning most of mine into 4-6 RTs in a week to get a better bang for my buck on routing (even though one was $250 due to lesser fares sold out).
