TK, basically 2 for 1

Found this on the Turkish Airlines website:

Earn the amount of miles needed for a miles redemption of the flight you are on. Easier said: pay and fly IST-BKK or any other route, get the miles to fly it again
Offer ends december 10

- Flight starting point should be outside of Turkey
- This offer is valid from 10th November 2016 to 27st December 2016
*do I have to book and fly until Dec 27 or just get it ticketed and fly anytime later?
Looks like has to be both according to this: Extra miles earned from this promotion will be posted to member’s account on 20th of January, 2017

- link for promotion mention "first flight" - is it a first flight out of 2 (3,4..etc) I have booked, or my first flight booked with them?

Terms and conditions of the offer are really vague, cannot confirm if/how it works, but might be of interest to some people...

This is what I'm wondering too. I have a rt Biz class ticket booked for early Jan, so this promo would be a dream come true if it applies.

Any luck with this?
Do you have to fly now or just book now? If you buy a business class seat, do you earn enough for a business class award ticket?
Seems very interesting!

To me it was already meaningless, the upgrade voucher and the complimentary Elite card..; it's just not worth it.

Where is the catch??

My apologies, but this is starting to sound too good to be true.
If I buy yyz-cpt and fly it, I would get 80k awards miles and turkish top tier status that comes with 4 complimentary upgrades to J(2 upgrades in each of 2 years of membership)........Am I missing something?

I have contacted their FB support as well and first they told me the promotion was no longer valid and then claimed they were wrong and it is. However they would not confirm that a Europe-USA rt would earn me the 60k miles it should... and then stopped answering my messages.

So I am guessing my flight that is already booked for December 16th to Jan 7th, will automatically be eligible? Do I need to do anything other than fly? I called and messaged on FB however, no one seems to actually be aware of this specific promotion....
Would be awesome to get this as I am flying VIE-NRT via IST

Interesting. I'm going TLV-JFK in April with the family. Haven't booked yet but if we'd all get instant Star Gold status from it, would be definitely worth flying TK. Is there a limit on when it's flyable?
