I just booked a one way for 10/15 from LAX-DFW just to fly my first 787 flight ever (and first non AS metal of the year) and as an AS MVPG I got 11A - I'm pretty stoked. I Then Used an Alaska Voucher for both the positioning flight from SEA-LAX (applied a GGU for the instant UG) & DFW-PDX (easy wait listed UG I hope) on a Sat afternoon. With A prop hop up to SEA on a Q400. I'll have time in the Boardrooms in LAX & PDX and will visit the Admirals club nearest my gate in Dallas.

So thanks for keeping this open so that I stumbled across it and took advantage. Only wish I'd had seen it originally sooner.

That's going to be a great Saturday

I do appreciate how only on flyertalk you can get a statement like 'On 10/15 I'm spending all day on an airplane flying to nowhere'... 'That's going to be a great Saturday.'

But enjoy it; I've flown AA's 787 once and its a neat aircraft.

Hi Ya'll, Newbie here. Just booked DFW-LAX RT for $101. Can't wait for a ride on the dreamliner.

I would be wary of the chance of last minute aircraft substitutions. But a risk worth taking at that price point.

Just came back. The aircraft seems light years better than the 788. I would not think it would be that different. The new premium economy seats were comfy, as was the J cabin. Glad I went!

GGU for SEA-LAX flight on AS? I'm not sure many folks would have done that.

DFW-LAX, $49 o/w in PE!

Perhaps it's time to dust-off this old thread of mine. . .

This fall, you lucky elites can grab PE seats on the 789 for $49 o/w.

Look for TuWeSa departures: there are 10 such days with the low fare in Sept, 11 more in Oct.

Sample date: 12SEP.

Of course, one can also grab the return flight ex-LAX (11 departures in Oct), but r/ts with a one-night stay are hard to find, regardless where you originate.

This must be gone already as I am having trouble finding the $49 O/W

The fare's still out there - just a hellova lot more scarce!

DFW-LAX, $49: Sample date, 04NOV

LAX-DFW, $49: Sample date, 04NOV

(Note: there are ample dates out there for $49. . . I'm just focused here on the 789 flights)

(Also note: 04NOV is the last date for the 789, at least for this rotation)

Yeah, near as I can tell that's the only date left with these fares on the 789. I searched each month in Matrix (up through December; as you said 2017-11-04 seems to be the last date the route is served by the 789) and other than that day the lowest is $107 one-way.

More dates have been added. Look for TuWeSa starting 25OCT (and even one Monday!).

DFW-LAX, $49: Sample date, 25OCT
LAX-DFW, $49: Sample date, 25OCT

There's good availability of PE seats. On the sample date DFW-LAX flight for example, only one PE seat is currently reserved.

I really enjoyed this flight. Spent some time in the cockpit before departure chatting with the Captain and getting pics. I'd do it again for sure

And. . . poof! The late October fares are gone again, so we're back to where we were about 24 hours ago, with 04NOV being the only date with availability.
