[FARE GONE] AA/BA: YYZ-VCE Economy/Premium Economy Same Price??

All the Madrid dates disappeared for me. Went all the way through the process to "hold" the fare to VCE--got "System is having trouble" message and told to try later. #@&*#!

Always book before you post

That being said I just held a fare to VCE right now… you might want to try again

Success! Held two seats from YYZ to VCE for December 27-January 4! I hope AA honours the hold. Now to see if there is anything left for Madrid or Lisbon....

Is there a history I am not aware of? Should I make the payment now? Or will that not make a difference??

Hmm...this is looking doubtful. The first leg of my trip is YYZ-LHR. When I just plug in that itinerary on AA the PE fare is $1560 CAD round trip. So for some reason it is over $800 less to add on a connecting flight? lol

So should I even bother paying? Should I call AA first?

Put a hold on 5 days in December. Is this ticket fully refundable or subject to cancellation penalty? AA printout indicates Cabin Class: Economy & Booking Code W. Does this actually translate to PE??

Why should I not call the airline?

And it looks like there is nothing left but VCE for December 25-January 8. Maybe some of you are having better luck with other dates? I am restricted to that period unfortunately.

Because it's clearly a mistake fare since this doesn't price out on BA, and only prices out on aa.com on BA metal at the exact same price as economy.

Held itineraries have not been honored in some prior fare sales. One that comes to mind is the DCA-PEK sale (see the wiki).
