AA: JFK-LAX $255 r/t; now $240-248
Stumbled upon this guy

There are 3 segments <500 miles. That means two things: a) bonus (minimum 500 EQM) and b) flying in a better seat since those are complimentary upgradeable. Meh.
$256 for 6264 EQM @ 4cpm (not bad considering it's a SATURDAY!)

That PHX-NYC red eye is awful. I have done it twice into EWR not much time to sleep. Thankfully both times were in F, and it was still terrible.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is not accurate. On segments <500 miles, you receive the actual miles as EQM and bonus RDM make up the difference. I just flew MKE-ORD yesterday (62 miles) and I received 62 EQM and a bonus of 938 miles (1000 mile minimum for platinum).

So EQM minimum is still 500 miles, it's just not being calculated correctly right now.
