Happy 2016!
Please use this thread to post or to follow Economy Fares which are 'Good Deals' but where the cost per mile is more than 3-4 cents per mile, which is the usual upper limit for what is considered a true 'MR Deal'.

No. Alaska only credits LATAM flights starting as LA. This is a JJ flight.

What IMO the best strategy is to hit the road in Amman in the morning, visit it in the afternoon to get the feeling of the place, spend a night in town (the Mövenpick or Crowne Plaza are both right next to the entrance) and visit the site again as soon as it opens the next morning. You'll avoid the crowds (they arrive at or after noon), the weather is more clement and you can discover Petra at leasure - remember, it's HUGE. The famous Treasury is just the beginning

So in case of a 23 hour layover at AMM, you are already facing 8 hours of driving from an to the airport.

No miles accrual on this fare but it's a good deal. RT BOM-JNB via ADD on ET. Several dates in December (e.g. 12/15 to 12/26) for $305.

She actually was talking about AMM and was aware of the long drive. She was hesitant to say "yes" but eventually decided that if you really wanted to, you could get there by early afternoon and at least get several hours out of the trip. Still, as you point out, probably not the most pleasant of whirlwind tours.

The reverse, as well as CPT-BOM has been available all summer, for as low as $285 on ET, $315 on KQ, and for $320 on QR - the latter accruing a big 25% RDM and 50% EQM on AA. I flew it earlier in the summer. Seems this is a fairly consistent rate for the time being. Glad to see its in the reverse as well.

Interesting fare thingy:
UA: LAX-LGA (via ORD) as low as ~$160ai
Sample:
Oct 11 LAX-ORD-LGA-ORD-LAX ~$160ai (G) (4956mi ~3.2cpm)
-Permitted Tues,Wed,Sat.
-I saw workable dates in Sept, Oct...
-2 fares are combining nicely when using Kayak.
Use Kayak to find dates and then click through to United.

WA: YYZ-LHR/CDG $386 RT March 2017
Playing around with Google Flights led me to this deal. Looks like there are lots of dates in March available. I think WOW charges extra for baggage and seat selection, but it's still a good deal for this usually expensive week (Ontario March Break).

MH: KUL-HAN $ 125 RT March 2017
Just bought this deal - found on Skyscanner but purchased on MH's homesite. Its 2 x 3½ hours = 7 hours in the air, fully fledged airline (even alcohol as flight more than 3 hours duration). Class O (gives hardly any miles on any OW Pgm, maybe Enrich?)

AA: NYC/WAS - FRA/MUC ~$550 through EOS, 90 day advance
AA: NYC/WAS - FRA/MUC ~$550 through EOS, 90 day advance
While $550 for NYC/WAS to Germany seems to be the new standard for winter sale fares, it's more unusual to see these valid through EOS, i.e. through next July.
OKN9S1E1, Sun min / 12 month max stay, 90 day advance purchase requirement, no day/time travel restrictions
Example:
LGA-PHL-MUC 7/5
MUC-PHL-LGA 7/12
$542 a.i.
For travel through 3/31 you can do slightly better with OLN9S1E1 which is $28 cheaper, but that one works from NYC only, not WAS.

Aggressive price by QR ex-KUL
Europe starts from usd 337, the cheapest being IST. Add few bucks more for AMS.
For that fare seems like a lot less destination choice than last year, apparently.
