This is not true, at least for this forum. We need to stop repeating this myth.

EY does NOT credit to AA. AAdvantage members only receive redeemable miles, no different than booking a hotel room or rental car. They are not status miles which is what a mileage run forum is all about.

False. People do MRs for different reasons.

Noting that it is RDMs only is useful; saying that it is not earning at all is simply untrue.

Agreed 100%. Especially now that Aadvantage has changed RDM earning, I'm looking at runs to fill up the account with cheap fare partner miles prior to "mid-2016."

LOL - if you'd rather spend 96 hours in an economy class seat versus signing up for a single credit card, go nuts. I think we can all agree there are FAR easier and more effective ways to stock up on RDM than flying.

But hey - if you disagree, enjoy the deep vein thrombosis.

From looking at EY's website, there appears to be a glitch with the Economy Saver bucket, and they have shut down all access to that bucket as an option; which I suspect is what's causing the tickets to re-price. So far, I haven't found an open bucket...

^ Most likely shut down the entire fare bucket(s) intentionally once they noticed the glitch

"Travel ticketed as an American Airlines marketed flight (booked as an AA flight number) and operated by Etihad Airways will earn AAdvantage base miles and elite qualifying miles, points and segments according to the AA mileage accrual chart. Beginning May 1, 2015, travel between North America and Abu Dhabi (AUH) on Etihad Airways operated and marketed flights are also eligible for AAdvantage base mile accrual."

Why does it say elite qualifying miles?

You have to look at the whole statement. AA codeshares with EY, so if you're flying something like AA 9078 operated by EY, the it credits like an AA flight. If the flight is e.g. EY 101 (no AA code), you only get RDM.

Booked IAD-AUH-BKK for $329

Got mine an hour or so ago...

1/16 - 1/23. Nothing like a few days in BKK/CNX/HKT. Now just to decide which one.

Called and it books into E class. Which appears to credit 100% to AA as RDM. No EXP bonus or EQMs though.

Steal of a deal to BKK.

The part in bold is key. You need to book AA flight numbers to get EQMs.

A ticket with EY flight numbers (such as the fares in this thread appear to be) earns according to EY chart, which does not award EQMs.
