Dl: Lax-fai $239
Fares in Nov if you are looking for an end of year MR (I booked Friday evening with a Sunday return if anyone has reccomendations for how to spend the time ;-). I'm silver medallion so it is 4.9 cpm for me (will be better for gold/plat/diamond)

I'm here in FAI on a similar fare, also checking out the Northern Lights. We saw them the first night, but it depends a lot on weather/cloud cover. I'd say three nights ought to really give you a good shot at seeing them. By the way, if you come in on the late night flight, sit on the right side of the airplane. We did and had a great aurora display for the better part of the last 90 minutes of the flight.

Upgraded on all legs with the exception of MSP-SMF later today(Sunday)
Offered me to pay (FCM) during check in for the LAX-MSP leg 289 to "secure" an upgrade. Didn't bite. Was #1 on upgrade list of 4 available.

I'm doing a similar run in November 12-15. 72 hr mileage run.
PDX - MSP - ANC - MSP - LAX - MSP - ANC - MSP - LAX - MSP - ANC - MSP - PDX. Should grind about 24K MQMs at a rate of $0.03 CPM.
Anybody else traveling on these days?

But if you're trying to stay a while to see the lights, this one to FAI might make more sense (for the true believers though, that takes this out of the MR category).

I'll be at LAX on 11/13 at the sky club most of the day until heading to FAI (via SEA). Only needed 5k for my MR and wanted to checkout FAI (guess that means I'm not a MR purist ;-) )
