But if you book on AA.com it'll be marketed by AA and operated/codeshared by JL, meaning you'll still get credit as if it were an AA flight... at least that's my understanding.

For you to be get credit as an AA flight, the flight should carry an AA flight number, in your case its all JL coded.

Rigs54321 - I think you're really learning a lot of lessons here, hopefully not the hard way.

Look on the AA.com screen, at the flight options... now look at the FAR left hand side. You'll see either an AA logo, or the initials "JL" or "CX." If it says CX it's marketed by Cathay Pacific, if it says JL it's marketed by Japan Airlines.

Sorry. That's the really important part here - not where you bought the ticket.
