I understand what you're saying, however, if someone is doing ~40 of these runs and doesn't already have some progress this year towards qualification next year, then they likely don't need the status next year anyways.

I'm trying to find 2 same day RT flights from DFW-LAX at a reasonable CPM (4 trips in two days would be amazing), but I'm striking out. Are these gone or am I missing something?

I think the problem is that a lot of those cheap seats have been picked over and are gone.

Has anyone found any other similar distance/price destinations where you can book more than one same day RT?

looks like the DFW LAX route is picked over for AA

Haha, last Wednesday, I did a SAN-ORD-SAN-ORD (overnight) ORD-SAN-ORD-SAN for a grand total of 258 bucks. Best part was, the first SAN-ORD diverted into Cedar Rapids. (10k sorry miles), the second SAN-ORD was oversold (voucher) then on the last return we had a very long maintenance delay (5K miles).
