I think many (at least the UK ones) were manifestations of the caches held by Kayak and other aggregators. Those I clicked through to updated themselves to quite scary fares!

....and it's on the blogs nicely stolen once again....

BobKop comes up with some brilliant deals, and many of us have good reason to be grateful to him: but neither he nor Flyertalk has intellectual property rights over the deals.

Inevitably, once promoted here, the fares are going to be more widely publicised. Fighting that promulgation is pointless: indeed, I'm guessing just occasionally we benefit from it spreading in the opposite direction....

They are cached by now indeed. I never say other people can't use them, but some credit would be nice rather than these blogs stating 'we found' as that is a blatant lie. You can nicely time the posts I do here, and the following posts on blogs like SF. That said, maybe i should keep them to a private circle here... maybe that would serve SF right

You should. While your intentions are great, the community does not benefit very much at all now that posts are stolen and then killed by bloggers. You would unfortunately join the likes of many in validly withholding great fares from a broken system.

This discussion always comes back once a deal is posted and then killed by the blogs. I have mixed feelings about that idea of private lists, I have heard they exist but I am not part of any of them so cannot confirm.

Those also pose questions as a private list might suggest minimal participation fromall members. Leaks from the list might also happen, which could also put the trust within the list at risk. Who says the blogger could not managed to get subscribed to the list?

I guess we have to live with them; new deals keep coming all the time. You just have to react faster and faster.

I, too, appreciate your fare posts and understand your frustration with not getting the credit you deserve. I don't think there is a solution to that problem, unfortunately. However, I hope you continue to post them openly, for everyone's use. I am sure many people have, are, and in the future, will, get a great benefit out of your hardwork. It is much appreciated.

I feel your frustration. Of course, being perfect myself, and a model of modesty and selflessness, I would simply turn the other cheek

Private lists would be cumbersome, and probably self-defeating. I reckon you'd be betrayed in no time. A charmed circle of ultra-discreet members would quickly find itself unable to use all but a few of the opportunities that come up.

I have no comprehension about how you manage to come up with so many deals, but long may your industry and patience last!

I just wanted to say that I too appreciate all your hard work BobKop, it must be time consuming but a lot of FT members really appreciate all that you do.
Personally I'm not against having a private sub-forum for trusted members (let's say 100+ posts and a few months in our community before being allowed access) that will surly reduce the amount of bloggers taking the good deals publicly.
