AA SCL-DFW-HKG-DFW-MIA-SCL 22K+ Miles $1121 USD

Just check this deal on Cheap o Air

Sample date was 02/26/2016 to 03/02/2016, you may also take a SCL - DFW - HKG - DFW - SCL for about the same price. Great for a AA Challange.

Excellent use of SWU though. IIRC all flights to SCL now offer the new business class seats, and of course the HKG flights are with the 77W.

Europe-based flyer can nest this interesting fare within one of those well-priced Europe to South America fares (MAD to SCL ~700$, or something). Potentially that's 1800$ and 4 SWU to fly just about 45,000 miles in business class (and almost half way to EXP in two weeks).

I was checking out this deal, and I found it for ~US$1.700 for the round-trip with two stopovers (free) and some peak dates (over Christmas/New Year's) for roughly a three-part trip (as long as you can get down and back to SCL) from the USA...worth thinking about, for sure, but it's a long flight from DFW!

Chances of getting SWU cleared on HKG flights are pretty low, I think

Ye. My experience with AA is almost nil, but as I am preparing to switch to OW, I have been reading up on the program and as best as I can tell, you have a better chance of becoming pope.

So, just playing around with google flights, I found this. Including the flight from Austin to get into position at SCL, and then returning back to SCL:

AUS-DFW-MIA-SCL (positioning) 8/25
SCL-MIA-ORD-PVG-DFW-SCL 8/26 - 8/30 (night in Chicago, all the rest on the plane)
SCL-DFW-AUS (nearly 12 hour layover in Satiago...can grab a quick hotel nap. 8/30)

Total tickets (two tickets) without fees and taxes were $1,693 (899 for positioning flight, 794 for the middle flight).

That is 4.83 cpm. But, if you are a platinum or higher, double miles, which drops it to 2.37 cpm. 71,400 miles. Even if taxes bring it up to $2k, that is still 2.8cpm.

Is this good, or am I missing something?

Incorrect. I just came off DFW>SCL last week, still on the 772 unrefurb.

you may reconsider your plans if your goal is RDMs. AA sells RDMs now at as little as 1.9 cpm

OP - great find, especially for those in SCL!
