I saw Mondays in November with short turnarounds. It's a bit brutal but I know I'll be short for EP so started looking. You can book it all as AA marketed so earns 100%.

Doing this too, with different/longer routing, but will miss you by two days. My Ord-Nrt is on the 8th while my return is on the 10th. Enjoy!

I did this run last October but extended it to get to Bali for a vacation.

There are showers in NRT if that helps the freshness issue.

CGK is one of these places you can get ~$900 RT fare year in and year out.

Transit from LAX/ORD/DFW - NRT/HKG - CGK

21000 EQM and more than 40 hrs in the air.....

Same route but originating at LGA instead of PHL for $967.

Not sure how I feel about that huge layover in CGK. Nice to have a day to see the city, but can't imagine I would be in any state to enjoy it...

No longer available at that price with short turnaround. Other dates are available for less money but involve 3-4 day stays so not MR material anymore.

Did this out of LAX in May. It wasn't too bad since I used SWU on all American flights and have access to all the lounges. I flew via DFW and visited the Centurion lounge and took a shower at the Aadmirals lounge. I took another shower at Narita at the Aadmirals lounge. Once I got to Jakarta I took a nap at the airport then spent most of the day exploring Jakarta. It was a Sunday so I visited the monument park and went down to the square. Ended up at the many malls and took the bus back to the airport. It was fairly hot in the 90s and very humid. Felt like Florida weather. I heard it gets hotter like it does in Bangkok. I took public transportation so it was fairly easy to get around. I took another shower at the Jakarta airport before taking the flight back to Narita. I basically took a shower at every lounge My next trip to Indonesia I will fly to Bali for a day and explore there.

That's what I did, flew CUR-MIA-PHL-SAN-NRT-CGK (1AM arrival), hopped on the first Lionair flight out to DPS (4:30AM), spent 4 days in Bali, flew Garuda back to CGK and then CGK-NRT-DFW-MIA. Great trip, but very tiring.

Give it a week and it will be back. It's not cheap until it gets back into the $600-$700 range that it was for lots of last year. And seeing you can get hotels in CGK for ~US$25/night it's not a tragedy to spend 2-3 nights there - aside from being a very dull city.
