As we all know...CPT does NOT go on sale like this too often like JNB does.

Hell YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
I could NOT get DL.com to price the stopover for KLM. I called in and she told me it would be $2k. I asked her if she could run the flights as KLM flights and they priced out exactly like KLM's website! ^^
I was going to simply book two PNRs to get a total of $988.
But....I then asked her if she could add on the connecting PHX-LAX-PHX legs to the front and rear of the trip and it priced out at LOWER than doing the 2 PNRs!!!!
So....I guess I'm going to CPT!!!!! Yipppppieeeee!!!!!!
So....I just booked PHX-LAX-AMS-CPT-AMS-LAX-PHX with a 23hr stopover in AMS on the return for Thanksgiving Weekend! 3 days in CPT....one in AMS.....it's gonna be a great trip!
24,150 MQMs @ $914 equals 3.78 CPM!!!!

I got SFO-ATL-JNB-CPT-JNB-ATL-SFO late August-early September $747 using Orbitz on DL and South African (JNB-CPT). Couldn't get these flights to price out on DL.dumb.
By the way, if you add enough hotel to reach $1000 total via Orbitz, you can use the code 150VACA to get $150 off the trip.

This is a VERY good fare from the West Coast to Cape Town. Not too shabby from the East Coast and Central.
We found availability for about $755 from:

Did this run last year (out of dca). A day in ams and a day and a half in cpt. Highly recommend getting a tour guide if possible. We booked a 8 hour tour, included tickets to parks, and Robyn island. Private guide drove us around town. Lots of great stops for photos. Cape of good hope. The penguin beach. Robyn island (amazing to visit, guides are all former inmates). Then back to the hotel and spent the rest of the day down by the water having dinner.
