According to AA's press release this is actually MCE with up to an extra 6 inches http://hub.aa.com/en/nr/pressrelease...787-dreamliner

That link is for 787s. The post you quote specifically mentions 777s though, which do not really have MCE. Only 777 retrofits (and 77W) have MCE. But, yes, those doing DFW-PEK flights will be on a 787 with MCE. The ORD-PEK on a 777 will not really have MCE.

My bad! I was thinking only of the DFW route (which by the time of these flights will be on the 787), but the ORD- PEK is on the 777. Sorry!

Also available from CMH for $713

Fare is also available from Columbus/CMH, via DFW, too, for $713.

Yeah, just harder to confirm upgrade in advance.

YEs, it's a good point, but on AA's site in July 15.....

all I could get price wise when i chose "none" for number of stops" (and thus got the dreamliner to price) was a fare of over $US2,000, A BIT DIFFERENT THAN 600-700 RANGE. Also, it's not going to be easy to upgrade versus the 777ER. There are only 28 business class seats, and I bet anyone buying a ticket is going to go that route (DFW-PEK) rather than take the old 777 boat in business (where there are 32 or 37 seats at least.

So you might easily, even as an EXP with SWU's, the Y in the 3+3+3 for 7K miles. Not exactely what I call a fun miles run!
