Given that the greater metropolitan LA area has the largest ethnic Armenian population in the US, and one of the largest city concentrations in the world (perhaps more so than any city outside Armenia), this was the least random route possible to be of the greatest use to those interested in Armenian VFR travel from the US. Perhaps there is an Armenian in an industry-related position who wanted to do the Armenian diaspora a bit of a Christmas favor.
