Nice one. Lots of these $600++ fares from Europe to S.America on all alliances. I have decided to give AA/OneWorld a try, so will be looking for these.

Did a few of these Benelux>Brazil/Argentina fares in spring 2013 on DL. Super fast way to obtain status, plus you get three continents on one trip!

For an extra $200 you can do a USAirways status trial and earn Gold status with 1 trip or CP with 2 trips. In any case the main reason against these trips would be clearing US immigration both ways (in MIA!).

I was able to route the AA fare through IAH/DFW/JFK(I'm sure there are other places) with a stopover in one direction, at a cost of ~$750. Great way to split up the travel for a reasonable extra cost.

For AS FFs it is a huge bummer that these book into "O" class.

You can do BCN-JFK-BOS-MIA-LIM r/t for about $625.
