AA: LAX-DCA $271 ai RT early December

Found a good fare for AA...Early December, same day turns if you want. Picked up a couple to re-qualify. 4,622 base miles w/o any bonus. .058 per mile.

ITA shows that (actually, $270.60) for Dec 6, 9, 11, 13:

Fare Class: Q

8:15 am – 4:05 pm
Los Angeles – Washington · LAX–DCA
American 240 · Economy · Boeing 737

5:05 pm – 8:00 pm
Washington – Los Angeles · DCA–LAX
American 245 · Economy · Boeing 737

One- or two-night stays are $277.

Works in reverse, too, for those same days and more.

There are several flights for the same price that make a stop in PHL. Should give you a boost due to the 500 mile minimum.

500 mile minimum doesn't apply to EQMs.

Sure does. I add short hops into routings all the time and it works just fine. This week I turned a ~700 mile direct flight from DFW to the midwest into 1300 miles with a stop at ORD.

Thanks SANman, great find!

It looks like the fare is now gone, but I was able to book a couple of roundtrips yesterday for next year and a fraction of the usual cost.

nimj and jaimelannister, I'm so confused by the "my account" tab on the AA website. For redeemable miles, it shows a flight from Austin to Dallas as 1000 miles. But when I click on million miler miles, it's back down to 183. (I had assumed EQMs match the million miler miles). So does this trip earn miles at 3 different rates: 183 for MM, 500 for EQM, and 1000 for RDM? I guess that's good news but what a pain to track.

Even though the fare looks like it is gone for now, don't worry -- it often comes back. I've done this route and it randomly prices out this way in the winter, you just have to be quick

If it's under 250 miles, you don't get 500 EQM. Only for flights between 251-499. You do however get them as RDM. That has been my experience anyways. I'll try and dig up the rules when I get chance
