Ua: Sfo-icn-gum-hnl-lax-sfo ($757.20/14,522)

Bought this in combination with an E-cert to make it $.04/mile. Not great for a pure RDM run, but good for a status run. Spent 20K + $75 to get BF/First the entire trip.

Lots of available dates for the month of November via ITA, leaving Sunday or Tuesday.

That's what the website offered me for an upgrade after purchasing. 20K miles + $75.

Still a net positive due to RDM bonus. But I'm not doing it for the RDM's... Too many of them already

$757 is a really good deal. My annual trip to Guam costs about $2,100 in Y.

Oooh...can this be routed on the island hopper (vs. the GUM-HNL nonstop)? And how much, if any, of it is YQ? I have a $500 e-cert that doesn't work on anything but base fare (had to cancel a trip to MAD I put on hold because the base fare was $50 and the YQ was $500, so the cert was useless).

Will play around with it, but would love any advice on anything. Looking for early December and would stay up to several days in any city this routes through...

That was my initial question, too. Let us know if you find anything.^

I found $749, albeit on the SFO-ICN nonstops. Routing via GUM seemed to make the base fare go up from $174ow to $262.50ow. Could just be crappy ITA search results (too bad it's being so difficult now).

A few notes to help in searching:

-It's a K fare
-The fare break point is ICN, not GUM (as I had mistakenly originally assumed)
-There is a $300 YQ. The base fare is $348--perfect for a $350 voucher, I guess...

If I'm reading it right, it's the fare filed as a round-trip K fare for $348, which contains the following routing rules:

Hope this helps. If anyone finds any availability in early December for up to a week or 10 days or so (especially doing it as a stopover in GUM or HNL rather than ICN, which I've been to twice in the last six months), let me know...

Edited to add: According to the EF grid, the fare expires 11/30/14, so I doubt it'll work in December. That explains why I was only seeing things on 11/27 and 11/30.

my sources tell me that UA is now beta testing the offering of "TOD instrument upgrades"

this is one of those odd things that can happen on quick return "circle trips"

I did something kind of similar last week: EWR-NRT-GUM-MNL-GUM-HNL-IAH-LGA but wasn't offered anything as sweet as 20k +$75!! I was told 30k+$600 each way. Don't understand why so different
