The open jaw plus a low base fare one way is making this a lower yqfat trip. Prepare for it to moved to a trickier discussion.

That sounds good for the outbound. Now, how to eliminate the UK from the return?

You can actually take the open jaw aspect out of this as well. Wide open availability in January and February 2015 (I didn't check for anything this year), Man - IAD for GBP348.

Obviously that isn't taking the UK out of the equation for Spiff!

Sadly no.

I'll check AMS/CDG/et al and report back if I find anything.

Was that eliminating LHR as transit or eliminating final destination being in the UK?

If final destination, you can go to OTP, BUD, VIE, ARN for slightly more. ARN was $646 via LHR and $648 via MAD. I didnt check more..

Interestingly, DL has some routings for $780..

For those who went into the RTW deal from a few months...
I was able to nest MXP-LAX-FCO (via JFK) on DL for $760 within my existing JFK-MXP-BKK trip. That's another 13,000 miles right there .
That would make my CVG-JFK-MXP-JFK-LAX-JFK-FCO, PRG-AMS-BKK... without probably a night in a hotel until I hit BKK.

I think I have too much time today to be doing all this.

Routing through JFK on the outbound is actually slightly cheaper and will benefit from preclearance in DUB.

I have a query on ITA if anyone could help out. I would prefer to return to BHD instead of MAN. This pushes the price from £344 to £408. Part of this difference is the base fare but there is also an extra 'United Kingdom Passenger Service Charge (UB) ' amount of £19.77. Can anyone tell me why it is there going to BHD but not to MAN? Is it a mistake that it is there on the BHD or that it should be there going to MAN? :s See below

you have to tell the agent at check in that you end your journey at LHR. You have to come up with some sort of excuse, like your aunt's father's oncle's horse's kid is sick at the hospital and you need to visit it...

If you check in online, then do it only for the segments until LHR.

Or pay the extra £20 fare difference to end at LHR
