I don't see any dates in July...

Wonder if anyone can force stops at DTW, MSP, or ATL to maximize miles?

HND/NRT?

Near the lower end of the fare range the outbound routing brings me from LAX into HND and about 19 hrs later I would fly from NRT on to HKG. What to do? Any suggestions? Is it easy to get from HND to NRT and then overnight near NRT? When I force a connection at SEA in both directions the price rises a few hundred dollars.

DL: LAX-NRT-HKG 4.6cpm 675$ 14552 mi

Got this booked.. As low as $667 (666.60) in November (shows on DL and google).. 11/11 LAX-NRT-HKG; 11/16 HKG-SEA-LAX. Must be a combo of either outbound via NRT and return via SEA or vice versa.. Selecting same outbound and inbound connections makes the price jump..

got one

I paid $707 for this itinerary: LAX-MSP-NRT-HKG three days in Hong Kong then HKG-SEA-LAX. I depart LAX on Oct. 12, 2014. I depart HKG on Oct 16, 2014 after a three night stay.

This looks dead?

Edit: Okay, maybe not, but now I can't find the fares with EF (even if I can price with ITA).

Both HND and NRT have good/easy rail links into Tokyo, though HND is a good bit closer in. Both airports have good/reasonable hotel offerings nearby.

...and of course Tokyo has hotels at all price ranges, though can be a little costly. If you have 19 hours between flights you should have plenty of time to go into town and get a good sense of the city.

Getting between the two airports is not difficult but may take several hours ground travel. Others may have more precise info, and I suspect there is a thread or two on FT with more information on airport transfers.
