The below is from our moderator (taken from the first post of the thread - bolding is mine). Feel free to add more if necessary / as needed.

Happy 2014!

Please use this thread to post or to follow Economy Fares which are 'Good Deals' but where the cost per mile is more than 3-4 cents per mile, which is the usual upper limit for what is considered a true 'MR Deal'.

A few requests for posting in the thread:

-members posting their deals please post the city pairs/airport codes and pricing in the body of the post and not just in the post title as it isn't visible for those reading it on mobile devices (ETA: ...or in email alerts)

-some members may be unaware that you can subscribe to this thread and to do that you can go to "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread and click on "Subscribe to this thread".

It's a phantom fare. Cheapoair didn't have it on their systems and it just sat on their site---real price is now $1900+

Can't find it on kayak anymore nor EK's website. It does seem a little too good to be true

my understanding is that they are maintained by the same group and that "fare deal alert" is targeted toward some of the secondary markets (PHX, CLT, IAH, etc.) that are not specifically targeted by TFD.

i am not affiliated with either website/blog, so i cannot say for certain how they are related.

Also not affiliated so this is conjecture but my impression is the same as PV_Premier.

I think they were getting enough questions and views directed at some of the secondary markets that they opted to have each website focus on something with TFD (which is more widely known) remaining focused on primary markets and FDA focused on secondary markets

Wow, wouldn't this qualify as a mileage run fare?

Yes and no.

It already has its own thread here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/milea...weekend-3.html

Not really an MR because of the required stay though a great deal and excellent CPM if you can make it work but 1 - 2 nights of hotel kill the deal if you can't stay locally for free

From my understanding this is only for limited dates and does not work in reverse is that right?

It works in reverse or did when it was first published earlier this week but it has/had a 2 night minimum stay going westbound (vs. 1 night minimum stay going east)

AS: SFO-SLC $158

h/t TFD:
http://www.theflightdeal.com/2014/04...cluding-taxes/

with DEQM bonus, you can get 2396 EQMs for a round trip:
http://www.alaskaair.com/www2/Promo/...C||&pid=AS1403

incidentally some dates are pricing out in F at $199 one way, meaning you could presumably get about 3600 EQMs for a round trip at $398 in F, or about 11.1cpm for F.

also seems to work from LAX and SJC. works the best for people starting in SLC, since the flights all leave early in the morning and the return trip to SLC is later in the evening. i can't justify it for myself with an overnight in SLC and having to position to bay area or LAX, runs the CPM up way too high.
