The below is from our moderator (taken from the first post of the thread - bolding is mine). Feel free to add more if necessary / as needed.

Happy 2014!

Please use this thread to post or to follow Economy Fares which are 'Good Deals' but where the cost per mile is more than 3-4 cents per mile, which is the usual upper limit for what is considered a true 'MR Deal'.

A few requests for posting in the thread:

-members posting their deals please post the city pairs/airport codes and pricing in the body of the post and not just in the post title as it isn't visible for those reading it on mobile devices (ETA: ...or in email alerts)

-some members may be unaware that you can subscribe to this thread and to do that you can go to "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread and click on "Subscribe to this thread".

UA: SFO-BKK $863 15,977 miles 5.4 CPM

ITA comes up with a UA ticket that has an ANA and a JAL(!) flight. Earns 100% for Star flights and 50% on AA.

L fare on Star, O on JAL

Sample date April 1-10

AC May 6-13 ATL-PVG via YYZ and YVR $813 (about 5cpm) ai on Kayak

Not a good MR bcs of minimum stay, but it's not often I see ATL-PVG for less than 1000usd. So maybe this will be useful for someone
It might credit 50% to AC, I know it's credited 50% for A3 - which I will be doing to get my A3 *G (I am missing about 7000 miles)

total miles about 16K.

It is PARAMOUNT to put the most important information in the BODY of the message, not just in the header.

Otherwise you are not reaching a large part of your audience, probably more than half.

Thank you.

Interesting assertion. Any substance to it? Any stats behind it ?

While I'm guessing here and that poster should have stated, I'm guessing he is talking about not seeing headers on mobile devices.. just a guess though

It is the very end of the high season. Last year, it was autumn, not summer, that weekend.

Thanks - I've yet to join the ranks viewing FT on phone/tablet. I had no idea mobile devices were such popular means to consult serious stuff like FT

I periodically put in the request that essential data go into the body because FlyerTalk's email alerts don't provide the header. Most long-time participants know this and do the right thing.

DL: SFO <-> DCA/IAD, $282 RT. Tu/W through EOS ($10 more for other days during summer), looks like it's available at $141 7 days/week in the fall...

Good fares to Chongqing (Western China) from LAX for $702 for 14,572 miles flown on China Eastern (connecting in PVG). Earns 50% on Delta Skymiles but maybe more on other programs... [url]

Agreed. 95% of the time, I use the mobile optimized version which does not display header details. It's quite helpful to ensure the body contains the relevant info.

Ua: Yeg-hnl $460-$520

Figure'd I'd post this, not too many deals for YEG based flyers....

I'd done this route a few times but it can be rough...

YEG-DEN-LAX-HNL and return same night from HNL-LAX-DEN-YEG

You leave early AM one day and get back mid afternoon the next, not much time on the ground, so maximizes the MR.

Multiple dates mid-week I've seen it as low as $460 to $540 so 5.0-6.0 cpm range, which from Canada isn't too bad!!
