UA/AC: NYC-IST $521.70 4.8 cpm (10914 miles, books on AC class L)

For example:

JFK-YYZ-IST-YYZ-JFK

Leave Jan. 10, return Jan 17

Some availability this year, plenty from January onwards

Def like this deal but kinda new to mileage run games... Would I able to earn 100% mileage credit to UA MP when I fly AC segment. Can see some good Lufthansa flights, long layover in Munich.. Enough time to grab some biers :D

As you can see on United's website (http://www.united.com/CMS/en-US/mark...spx?ItemId=313), class L will get you 100% mileage credit.

I haven't looked for these flights but you may be able to build in an overnight layover as well. I just booked a DL/KLM flight to IST that includes a 23+ hour layover in AMS. MUC is a fun city although I think FRA is easier to get to the city center in public transit, so you could look at connecting there. I could be wrong on that, so check the Germany or Lufthansa forums.

FRA is easier to get to the city centre than MUC, but it is very easy in MUC and everything about MUC is better than FRA: culture, food and especially the beer.

AMS is a great stop for beer as well (please don't drink crap in green bottles) - stick to some newer artisinal brewers in the Netherlands (de Molen, etc) and of course, it's easy to get into Centraal from Schipol...

It's super easy to get to the center of Munich by S-Bahn.
You can also take the Lufthansa bus.

Fare rules say multiple stopovers allowed, so some creative routing in order to maximize miles and overall enjoyment could be had i'm sure

UA/AC: NYC-IST $521.70 4.8 cpm (10914 miles, books on AC class L)

I went to book it on ACs website to see what booking class it falls under on AC... And it falls under L - Tango which is only 50% mileage accruing.

EDIT - Nevermind!...it appears on the MP website you DO get 100% for AC - L.

But a great price for anyone wanting to visit IST!

Thanks for the find!

Which fare and date allows unlimited stopovers? I don't see that in the fare rules for AC or LX.

Thanks for tips and i probably will book this one tonite. I love Amsterdam but probably stick to *A since I want to qualify for UA gold elite level in 2014. I wonder if I buy ticket today, and fly in 2014.. Would my spending count toward 2014 calendar year?

Also, how can I build multistop flights? Do multicity search to build my itineary to maximize the MR? Thanks again, folks!

Either way.. the fare rules I'm looking at say no stopovers allowed. Could you please post the date and specific fare you are looking at?

BobKop Oct 9, 2013 2:00 pm

Washington (DCA / IAD) to IST is available for $592, which comes to 5.4 cpm.

Similar dates (5 night returns available)

BobKop Oct 9, 2013 2:07 pm

LAX-IST is $741, making it 5.1 cpm (14524 miles)

No you dont.

Its not as simple as it looks when crediting AC to MP.

For the transborder segments (ie. LAX-YYZ, JFK-YYZ) - you would only earn 25% for L class

For the longhaul segments (ie. YYZ-IST) - you would earn 100% for L class.
