DL: IAH-BOM $850 ai RT (May-Jun, Dec dates)

This is my first post here. I booked a ticket from Houston to Mumbai (India) R/T for $854. It's a DL ticket but am flying AF metal. The total mileage to be earned is approximately 18,500 miles. Not too bad for $850!

Hi chandu2013 welcome to FT.

Not a bad first post, and not a bad deal for travel to the subcontinent.

You may wish to check the Skymiles websites to insure that you get 100% of your flown miles on AF.

18750ish miles is roughly 4.5cpm which is pretty good for India.

I'm flying May 23-Jun 11 but mid-May to mid-Jun is similarly priced. So is all of November 2013 (until the 24th).

Also, if you're flying a DL ticket and it's an AF flight, 100% Skymiles are earned. The situation changes if this was an AF ticket for AF metal.

Looks like the very last of the fares found on this thread UA/DL/TK: IAH-DEL/BOM, from $790 a/i I do still see limited DEL flights on DL as well, and limited UA flights IAH-BOM.

Wow, that cheap! That's so rare for India. India is for the most part always expensive.

Not sure where you are flying from but the USA - India has probably the best TPAC/TATL pricing with massive availability on all three alliances and lots of flights. USA - India out of NYC/LA/CHI/SF rarely crosses $1,200 except for peak travel times (Diwali, Winter Break, etc.)

Put another way, flying to Europe is usually about 60% of the mileage and usually 80% of the cost.

If it wasn't for insane taxes at DEL, India would be an even more reasonably priced place to get to (hotels are still very expensive but travel within India and eating out is very affordable).
