I believe the CPM is 3.17 with status (500 mile minimums). Not too many dates available with the SAN-SFO-IAH-COS routing (and I could only get it on the outgoing, not the return). Great run, just booked for Feb 26.
Hello - thx for info on this route. I am very new and have a few questions. I am using ITA Matrix to search for the flights... but the most stops I can find is 2. Are you using a different ITA software? If not, can you please advise me on how to search for more than 2 stops?
Lastly, once you find the route, do you just call a UA representative to book?
Sorry for the million questions and thanks for your help.

Try plugging in "UA UA UA" in the advance routing code to see if magic would happen :-).
Has anyone ever gotten a "blank" fare? I found the following routing on Hipmunk, clicked through to purchase it on United, and it never showed an amount (even up to the last step):
SAN->SFO->DEN->COS->DEN->LAX->CLD
I went ahead and purchase this "blank fare" for the hell of it (figured I could do a 24 hour refund if necessary). The flights show in my current reservations with a reservation number, but show:
This reservation is not ticketed. Complete this purchase now.
We will hold this reservation until midnight Thu., Jan. 10, 2013 in San Diego, CA (SAN).
When I click through, it shows a ticket price of $167.40, but I never saw this fare on United.com before this (this matches the fare I saw on ITA though). Very strange.
Programs: United 1K MM BIS. Qualified 1K by segments 1996-2010 and 2012, but by miles in 2011.

This routing/fare should be noted by DEN/COS FTers, too, as it also works westbound, and is a variation of the excellent COS-PHX fare of the same routing that was around much of 2012, and COS-TUS in 2011.
Unfortunately, availability in Feb/Mar has dropped abit this past week or so. And looks like must now route through LAX on the way back to get the cheapest fare. While you lose a few EQMs by doing so over flying back through SFO, you will get the 500 mile minimum for this 100 mile or so EMB 120 flight, to partially compensate. Also, for SFO-SAN outbound, cheapest fare flies you to Mammoth Lakes, you stop for 31 minutes, then continue on to SAN on the same CRJ700. Looking forward to that on one of the two COS-SAN runs I've booked.
It's a good run for segment qualifiers, as it provides six segments for $27 or so each, which is quite good nowadays, and adds 5,500 EQMs to one's account for a low +/- $160.

Since United changed their routing rules several summers ago, to now allowing only two connections rather than the previous four each way for most fares (that's a general statement), adding even a seventh flight now to an itinerary can rather significantly raise your fare. You can still fly a 10-flight domestic roundtrip, but nowadays it will really cost you.
