At 15,278 miles via DTW, $724 comes out to 4.74cpm. Mediocre MR material (don't forget the visa cost), but for a fare to mainland China this is great!

i was under the impression that anything under 5.00 cpm was a good deal for a MR. Did the bar get lowered?

I think the traditional standard was/is 4 CPM. Some US domestic MR's could get you under 3 CPM due to tough domestic competition recently. However, 4.7 CPM to PVG is not bad at all if it is not a pure MR, IMHO.

Beware the return flight
It may not be true for all dates, but the ones I checked the return flight was on China Eastern Airlines which was a U class seat earning NO MILEAGE!!
Also Visa cost is $140 and expedited service add another $30.
Not a great deal in my eyes at least for my dates..

It was a reasonable deal for me since I already hold a valid Chinese visa. Thank you, OP, even though I actually booked mine with UA through EWR.

That is very nice. I should have waited for the JFK match instead of booking on EWR!
Are those JFK-SFO flights on the PS flights?

While I respect your posts, gotta say, as often as PEK and PVG deals pop up, thought most here already know that one

I used to get confused with PVD = T F Green St Arpt, Providence, RI
CDG is an easy one for me - former French president Charles De Gaulle
