Never been to Turkey and rethinking this one now since we are sending troops and Patriot missiles in.

Anybody else worried?

Now priced at $599.99 (talk about gamesmanship!) for the same dates in my OP.
be careful many of AC fares no longer earn full miles.

You shouldn't be worried. IST is a great city, and there's no way the Syrians would attack it...recall that NATO article 5, if invoked, says (paraphrasing here) that an attack on Turkey would be an attack on all of NATO, including the U.S.

DL/UA: DFW-IST, $607 a/i; summer travel !!

There have been terrorist attacks in Istanbul in the past few years. But I chose to visit anyway, just like I visit New York, London, Madrid, and Tel Aviv.

No, this is my third trip to Turkey. Most of the problems have been in the Eastern part of the country. There have been occasional terrorist attacks at cafes in Istanbul, but the probability of such an event is low, and we face our own terrorist risks in the U.S.

Go to Turkey, walk around Istanbul after dark, come back and tell us how it was, then, walk around Atlanta after dark, and see how it compares.

I'm shocked (yes, shocked!) to see that this fare is still alive.

Doing a quick spot-check, I see the following fares in July/August:

AC flights/metal (TATL): $601
UA flights/metal (TATL): $604
LH flights/metal (TATL): $681

Availability is a little more spotty than when I started this thread over a month ago, but still a great deal if one has flexible travel plans.

Still available in June/beginning of July on DL too (I am shocked as well...this an amazing summer fare to Europe).
