Most excellent. I was able to route this ZFV-EWR-SFO-MMH-SAN-SFO-EWR-ZFV on a Saturday (red eye return) for $214.50 - $200.00 travel certificate = $14.50. Never too early to start on 2014 requalification.

Thanks. I ran it again on ita and also got these results. Seats are sparse, but the fare does exist through Feb.

similar fare ZFV-PDX for $183.

Sample date: Jan 15-16 (doesn't appear you can do a same day turn).

Looks to be good one way as well.

So what is the trick for searching for such a multiple flight trip? If I search PHL-SAN on UA the most I see is one stop options (for just $98, so a nice price at 4.8 cpm).

Be sure to start at ZFV. The best options are via SFO and LAX, cpm-wise, so search for two segments:

ZFV-SFO/LAX
SFO/LAX-SAN

Depending on the timing of the flights, you'll have to adjust the dates as necessary.

Better yet - use ITA to find identify the routing you want. Only then go book on UA.com using the multi-city search option.

My response was under the assumption that they had been using the site. I've been piecing together a back-to-back one of these, and thinking about using only UA's site just now made me shudder.

I simply cannot get the connection through Mammoth Lakes (MMH) to work no matter the dates on .bomb. Anyone have any luck with that?

Straight connection SFO/LAX no problem.

skip the last return segment?

slight tangent - is it possible to take this flight:

ZFV->EWR->SAN
SAN->EWR->ZFV

and then skip the last EWR-ZFV, but still get miles for each of the other segments?
