to get a cheaper fare. If DFW-SFO-DFW the price will be ~$298 a/i, compared to $238 for including the AUS leg.

Nice -- almost forgot about the RDMs part. I will hit EXP for the first time with this trip... so I have to thank AA and I'm really looking forward to enjoying the benefits.

Just updated the dates available in the first thread. I'm surprised this fare has been around for so long!

In that case, why not start in Austin to get the extra 500 EQM / 1000 RDM?

If you live in Dallas, you have to get yourself to Austin. That cost is a minimum of $120. If you factor that in, and do DFW-AUS-DFW-SFO-DFW-AUS-DFW, it's still a respectable 3.7 cents per EQM but not fabulous. Not sure you could do it all in day, though.

Dilemma: Go for a one-hour layover in SFO with only 4 F seats open on a 738 on SFO-DFW (i.e. little chance of upgrade) or add another 1:15 to the layover for a much better upgrade chance (13 of 16 open)? I'm guessing the latter.

Related question: I'm not an AC member, but I am a member of United Club and DL SkyClub. Is there any way to reach those clubs from the AA gates without having to go through security?

As far as Dallas to Austin just do what I'm going to do: $60 in gas, spend weekend in Austin (not a bad place to spend a weekend ), fly Saturday. Great find OP!

In SFO? No, but it's unclear how necessary the AC is (says he who is sitting in the AC right now) as there's free wifi, comfortable seats, and plenty of power outlets post security in SFO T2.

Looks like the AUS-DFW-LAX-SFO-LAX-DFW-AUS option for $178.80 is gone. When you try to book it it comes up with the page with the correct fare and your name, etc, but when you continue past that you get an error that the fare is no longer available.

Can't confirm for dates other than 5/12, but it was an O fare, and they're gone on that day.

I've booked May 5 for $171.20

I'll do the trip on May 5 with the following itinerary

AUS-DFW Flt 1056 Dep 6:30 Arr 7:35
DFW-SFO Flt 1965 Dep 8:40 Arr 10:25
SFO-DFW Flt 2090 Dep 11:40 Arr 5:15
DFW-AUS Flt 479 Dep 6:20 Arr 7:15

If my math is correct, once the DEQM are credited to my account, I will have 1000,008 EQMs

Let me know if you are flying that day!

Bob

I can almost guarantee that your math is not correct.

Over a million EQM?

Congratulations on earning Million Miler status on this Mileage Run! I've got 700,000 miles to go, haha.

And thanks OP! I've never been to Austin, but I've heard it's a great city. I will be spending Cinco de Mayo there. I'm getting in at 9:15am and I'm leaving at 6pm.

FYI - you can save 5% on this routing by using this promo code: 2342BM

May is a great time to come. Too bad you won't be staying overnight for some partying downtown. Too bad I will be traveling myself, to San Fran, haha.
