As noted, the Lufthansa specials are generally available from Europe. When Lufthansa runs a sale in any European market, it typically tends to be available in several others, too.

And just to point out, too: Swiss and Austrian are also offering various similar deals from a number of European markets. Again, this is usual when a Lufthansa sale is in progress.
Also available on AC, CO and UA metal.

LH J sale from Russia this time

Sale till 24 January, prices are not that good as were from Central Europe, but can be good for some combinations (I am not referring to the long thread though).

LX Holiday destinations in business

Male, Punta Cana, Phuket and probably more from USD 2,050 AI (for RT). Books into Z.

Most flights are operated by Edelwess (so presumably no deal in business which could be crap; no idea in fact) but BKK fares for example allow LX operated flights to BKK and then PG or TG which is quite of a deal (as BKK itself is at least USD 1,000 more expensive in same Z RBD).

Stopovers are presumably with no HIP triggers as these are routing fares with permitted stopovers (so it shall make at least HKT deal more worthy)^

Fares created 10 JAN 12.

Forgot the origin => Prague

Thanks, whimike! I signed up for FT just to thank you

I stumbled on this thread last night lamenting that I had missed status with AA by < 800mi and still p1zzled that they took Gold away from me even though that was a main reason why I got the Citi AA Elite.

I booked myself, my GF and one of my best friends on the following, it was a tad more, but who am I to complain about 6 1st class segments.

Fri Feb 17 Depart 12:40am
SFO-DFW-MIA-MGA 2:20pm

Sun Feb 19 Depart 7:20am
MGA-MIA-DFW-SFO 9:25PM

$1,009 AI - but it fits our schedules perfectly. I had a hold on 2 for 909/pp ai, but the 3rd segment jumped from I bc to D bc when I canceled to rebook as 3 person. Everyone can use my Citi AC Elite, so it will be a great time.

Yea we'll miss on some of the DEQM's but we are all gonna do a platinum challenge and start the year off right hitting it on this one fun weekend trip. The HH Gold on arrival won't hurt either.

And if you have tips on how to find AA premium fare deals from SFO,SJC, I'd love to know how you found deals like this :-)

SFO-DFW-MIA-SJO-MIA-DFW-SFO on same dates is $952.43 ai and 5.5 eqcpm, total EQM is 17,768.

Both book in A and I class.

If you want to get more miles there is on the same dates: SFO-ORD-BOS-MIA-SJO-MIA-ORD-SFO. $1,021.43 ai. CA/TX get EQM of 22,188, which is 4.6 eqcpm. 4 of these and you are very close to EXP for $4k, all flights in business class or higher.

If you don't want to stay so many days, I tried a 1/8 - 1/11 booking the above and it was about $100 more.

You are welcome, glad my post helped somebody.

In regards to how I found it... I found another poster of FT post about a BOS <-> MGA premium fare so I tried it from SFO and found the fare to be nearly as good.

Yyz-hkg $3170

UA has some pretty attractive Z fares loaded for YYZ-HKG for around $3170 via EWR (on CO metal). DL has matched (S fare).

These fares are still very high. Also, January is early to buy discounted J summer tickets. I think one should wait until March to see if fares come down a bit more. Competing sales from LH/LX/UA and AA/BA should help.

Thanks for your comments dieuwer2. To be honest, I haven't purchased summer J tickets to EU in the past since I usually have another destination in mind. Can you give a rough idea of J summer sale fares to EU, ex-USA, that you have seen in the past year or two and/or what you might expect to be a good sale fare to EU to be for the upcoming summer season?

I would suggest the following tranches for travel to Europe in J:

Great: <$2000
Good: $2000 - $2500
So so: $2500 - $3000
Regular: $3000+

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/15567311-post4.html

For example, last year some very good deals to London ($1500 ai) and Madrid ($1200 ai) were advertised by late February, early March.
