If I'm not mistaken, www.airfrance.de was selling this route, on DL metal, some months ago for the slightly cheaper rate of 999 Euro.

I've been trying but haven't been able to find this for booking. Where did you see this? Know the booking class? Thanks.

Well, I just tried www.airfrance.de (as I mentioned a couple of posts up ) with random dates and instantly found the offer, but for a slightly cheaper €1,142 (Strangely, it calls the class on the direct Delta flights "Europe Select"). Class Z.

No children´s discount on those Delta flights 8I understand, they get their own seat) but no discount for infants either (I don´t quite understand as they don´t get a seat).

Yes indeed - it is systematically the old style Business Elite (i've done 4 in the past 2 months!), not the most comfortable but nice crew and service. Flight is often late both ways so beware if you use positioning tickets, and it systematically arrives at remote stands at JFK and often at FRA which can add yet a bit of transit time.

IAD-LHR Z $1952 all-in
I've been watching the UA IAD-LHR Z fares in November for a while and they've been running about $3300... pulled the trigger this morning when a six-day trip over Thanksgiving dropped to $1952 all-in on the 767 flights.

Many other origins/destinations
Looks to be a Thanksgiving week "Z" sale -- most UK & German destinations are included from most US origins, on UA, CO, US, LH
e.g.
IAD-FRA/BER/DUS/STT/MUC ~$1700; from ORD/MIA/ATL/IND etc. ~$1750, from SEA/SFO/LAX/SLC/LAS etc. ~$2100-$2200
Dates are very limited. From the fare rules:
On UA & LH at least, there's no class-of-service [EDITED - see posts below] bonus (unclear whether the same is true for CO, US, & AC - I don't see it, but it could be buried):
Yes, it does say "Elite Statue Bonus Miles". Hmm.
Only the US fare appears to permit stopovers.
