as a side note, i checked ita, and it is delta and not ual, that has this great fare, can someone please tell me how i can get the united fare like this, thank you, kctigers.

Yes. I can find the fare up till Feb 2010.
LAX fares are fading too. It is now $596. Sample dates: Nov 24/25 - Dec 14/15.

PERMITTED 03OCT 09 THROUGH 04DEC 09 ON THE OUTBOUND TRANSPACIFIC SECTOR.
If you can spend about 2 months there. You can return in Jan if you leave Nov 17-18, 24-26.
