AA: SEA-BKK $799.60 ai

Be sure to search including One World partners as this includes a portion on JAL codeshare from NRT to BKK.

Spend $70 for a routing through ORD to add on ~1590 more miles

Not too bad at 4.3 CPM before DEQM promo. Note that the JAL codeshare will not get you double miles. Total EQM from this will be :
sea-lax-nrt-lax-sea x2 = 25620
nrt-bkk-nrt x1 = 5778

If you do the ORD on the return you get
sea-lax-nrt-ord-sea x2 = 28800

Have you been successful in booking this? I keep getting a "re-price" to fares 4 times the price when trying to purchase.

Have tried various other routings too without success. All quote fine but then re-price on last ticketing step.

Ideas?

There's similar fares filed from lots of places.

However, I can't price ANY dates using an AA flight number all the way.

JL flight number means 50% miles and no elite bonuses.

The ones I see seem to book into L on JL, which is at least 70% miles... but no other bonuses

Ones I'm looking at are G Class on JAL - says Q during booking process but ends up G

restrict the search to only AA; that will only bring up AA-coded flights. not sure how they will price out, though.

If you have any interest in going on a visit to BKK, still a pretty decent fair. Just will have to sit in Y NRT-BKK and no elite bonuses.

I recently flew NYC-NRT-HAN which had NRT-HAN on JL in Y (NYC-NRT in biz)--wasn't so bad.

Might not end up being MR worthy though...

The UA fare deal to BKK all on UA metal is probably better

There's nothing wrong with flying Y on JL. Those of us who insist on flying Oneworld to Asia are used to it.

However, being forced into JL codes instead of AA ones does ruin the attractiveness of Asian MR's.

Actually almost as good as the US-NRT J food with respect to meals. Don't get the ice cream sunday or fresh hot bread, but the full meals were about as good!

I can get this out of ORD Nov 27-Dec 1 for $840 AI.

ORD-LAX-NRT all on AA metal

NRT - BKK on JL @ 50%

BKK - NRT on JL/AA codeshare for 100% but no DBLEQM

NRT - ORD on AA metal

still nets me 31,200 EQM. And I'm EXP.
