BA promo: LAS-LHR $663 ai ($276++)

BA is advertising a $276+ promo fare on their new route from LAS to LHR (good thru March, with holiday blackout). It appears that the fare will be loaded Monday morning PDT. $80 more to select other European cities. Taxes will be extra, but it appears that there will be no fuel surcharge.

BA should be ashamed of themselves for putting this out as a press release

The "special fare" $276 fare becomes $663 with fuel surcharges and taxes ...

not much of a deal

As the OP indicated, the sale doesn't begin until Monday morning. You won't be able to price it out properly until then. Unfortunately, the article doesn't mention what time or time zone Monday morning. However, it ends Thursday, October 29th, Pacific Time. So I'm guessing Monday morning would be Pacific Time as well and we have about another 2.5 hour to go before the clock strikes midnight here and then it'll be Monday morning.

And...it's BA. Which means, two days after the "sale" ends, they can renege on all tickets citing an obvious mistake.

No doubt....I think that it will be a LONG time before I ever buy another BA ticket

Yay, worthless BA tickets. Can't credit to any useful US-based program.

Let's see if UA/CO/DL match...

Yeah, not so sure I'd trust any of what their sale prices are.

On the other hand, one wonders what PL bookings will result

AA has $249 each way with total fare of $677. There's $179 of taxes added on there that are normal for UK travel (probably a few more dollars than BA because you need to connect somewhere in the U.S. to get to LAS).

Looks like it is loaded. BA.com returned $276 with $387.08 in taxes/fees/surcharges. Total is $663.08. Not great unless someone can figure out an FD that doesn't cause BA to rescind tix.

When earning is limited to 25% of the miles flown and this ticket is priced this much, what is the mileage run potential in this pretty regular price?

It is pretty shameful that they added the usual surcharge. The thread should be closed -- there's no deal here. Sorry.

Looks like VS is undercutting (LAS-LGW). Fares are cheaper by about $20.
