Another vote for Rosewood.
Took my sister there last Fall (she lives not too far west of ORD, but had never been there), and now she and her husband go semi-regularly. Prices are more modest then the Downtown Chicago "name" steakhouses, BTW.

I’m a Chicagoan, love pizza, and live near ORD.
For some of the best thin crust in Chicago (yes we have good thin crust), the Des Plaines Barnaby’s is some of the best in all of Chicago. Barnaby’s is part of a small chain but all the locations are run very independently so there is a difference in the quality of food served. The Des Plaines location is great and only 1 mile north of ORD.

Gino’s franchise locations have all been horrible IMO and I cringe when anyone states that they have had deep dish pizza and have been to a Gino’s or Uno’s franchise. The best is in the city at Due’s or Uno’s (the original locations). The pizza served at the franchises is does NOT approach what is served at the original locations.
Your next best bet for a worthwhile deep dish is the Lou Malnati’s located in Elk Grove. Although a chain, Lou Malnati’s seems to do a very good job with keeping the quality high. This particular location is a 10 minute cab (about $15) ride from ORD.

Drop me a line if anyone is in town and wants to go for pizza or any ORD area meal, I’ll even pick you up at ORD as I live so close.

Though not extremely recent or extremely close to ORD, Paprikash Hungarian restaurant (essentially) relocated from the city to Arlington Hts. The food is excellent. They have a lunch buffet and traditional Hungarian musicians, if you're into that sort of thing.

Heading into the city (via Blue Line or Kennedy/I-90) but not yet downtown, I'd recommend:
- Lula Cafe in Logan Square

I had written up New Seoul restaurant review in the Chicago forum awhile back. New Seoul was closed for 6 months while they remodeled. They have since re-opened, I have not been in the new location, I’m hoping they still use real charcoal pots at the table as they used to, I’ll check it out soon and report back. For those interested, here is the old thread: Good Korean Food near O'Hare http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...ighlight=seoul
