Ok made it into the former Michigan Theatre building to see the world's most fabulous parking lot (there were four cars in it) this past week. It's now closed to the public but I pouted so shamelessly they let me in.

You can also see the Michigan Theater, and others, on a Preservation Detroit walking tour. They do regular walking tours of the city, but once a year they also have a theater tour. In the past it has included the Fox, Michigan Adams, Opera House, Music Hall, Gem and Grand Circus, and others depending on what is available.
