DTW - Sirens in terminal A

So randomly in terminal A sirens are going off with white strobes flashing. It just ran for about 20 minutes. Then a recording started occassionally chiming in. I couldn't hear the full recording. I could only make out emergency and don't use the elevators. I couldn't stick around to figure it out since I was boarding though.

Anyone have any idea what it is?

I wonder if this was just an open door alarm ?-- anything more serious and they wouldn't have let you board.

white stobes are generally fire protection, from someone tripping the alarms to breaking off sprinkler heads (fun times), but you can generally silence them pretty quick.

An open door alarm would have only the light at that gate flashing. If lights flashed up and down the concourse, it was a fire alarm that was probably set off accidentally.

Possibly fire alarm maintenance. Used to get that one place I worked. They would announce ahead of time that it was going to happen, and if there was a real fire they would tell us over the PA.
